The Ellis Trust still has a large pot of money to spend on young ladies in
grades 9 to 12.  They can give up to $6,500 per student, per year.  They give
money for special school supplies such as graphing calculators, lab equipment,
books, tutoring (must be recommended by counselor), college visits- group and
individual sports equipment and team participation fees music, dance, theater
and art lessons, college courses, after-school programs, $100 toward senior
dues, college application fees, ACT/SAT's and transcript fees and more.

PleaseTouch Museum

With the anticipated completion of PleaseTouch Museum’s expansion
and relocation to Memorial Hall, in Fairmount Park, the Museum seeks
a Director of Operations to manage the Museum’s greatly expanded
facility, physical plant and surrounding grounds resulting from this
transformation.  The restoration of Memorial Hall increases the size of
Please Touch Museumto 140,000 square feet, nearly quadrupling the
footprint of the current location.  

The Director of Operations is responsible for all aspects of Please
Touch Museum’s daily operation including but not limited to: Building
Maintenance, Custodial, Receiving & Shipping, Security and
Transportation.  The Director must ensure maximum performance of all
Museum facilities.  Additionally, the Director must ensure that all
maintenance is appropriate for the Museum’s audience and in line with
the Museum’s mission and objectives.

BA is preferred or equivalent related building experience.  A minimum
of six years of experience in Operations is required as well as a
minimum of three years of senior management experience.  Experience
with EMS and Lighting Control systems is required.  Must be able to
work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekend and on-call
status.  Certification in HVAC or Class A electrical license is preferred.

Knowledgeable in all areas of building mechanical systems is required.  
Must be proficient in general office software as well as computerized
Energy Management Systems.  A minimum of six years of experience in
a building trade is required.

Program for Youth

"Year Up" is an intensive one-year
training program for young
adults ages 18 - 24 who provide
Fortune 100 companies like Merrill
Lynch, American Express, Lehman
Brothers and Bank of America with
Information Technology entry level
talent. We recognize that both job
skills and higher education are
necessary to provide a viable path to
economic self-sufficiency. Throughout
the course of one year, our
students earn up to 16 college credits
from Pace University , learn
technical and professional skills, and
are placed in paid internships.
Students are paid an educational
stipend of $150 per week while in
training and $250 per week while
working at their internship.   

"Year Up" is currently recruiting
students for our next class of
young professionals. We are looking
for High School graduates or GED
recipients, ages 18 - 24, who may not
know what to do next - attend

Temple University Basketball

is hosting the 2008 Fran Dunphy
Basketball Camp August 4-8 at Temple University. Temple
players and coaches will teach kids the fundamentals of
basketball in a fun and competitive environment. Kids will
participate in daily skills and drill stations along with a
competitive 5-on-5 team competition. Camp will be open to
boys and girls ages 7-17.
